Curiosity Approach
What is the Curiosity Approach?
The Curiosity Approach pulls ideas from a range of philosophies of early education including Reggio Emilia, Pikler, Montessori, and Steiner. It aims to create children who are ‘thinkers and doers’ rather than passive learners who simply follow the direction of an adult. The Curiosity approach is based on child-led learning supporting children to make their own choices and work things out for themselves which leads to enhanced confidence, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
At Alverbridge, through the Curiosity Approach we aim to:
– Feed children’s thinking, curiosity and imagination
– Stimulate and support children’s learning experiences
– Offer a multi-sensory experience that will promote deeper levels of involvement, concentration and thinking.
– Focus on Child-led learning supporting children to make their own choices and figure things out for themselves, which leads to enhanced confidence.
-Ensure children have the opportunity to engage in activities and play experiences of interest to them.
